America has a new adiction "social media" some just can't seem to put it down. This might be fine for adults with fully developed brains and the ability to take criticism and to make good judgements on the things they see and hear. But what about the growing minds of our kids ? What kind of influence or thoughts are being placed into the minds of our children by strangers ? Any thought or idea they heard or even an image that they had seen as a child is like a seed planted into their brain that can grow with your child. What kind of seeds do you want planted in your children's minds ? Are you OK with complete adult strangers planting seeds "ideas and thoughts" into your child minds without your permission ? Well that is exactly what social media is doing. These social media sites are open to all ages, kids are allowed to follow and be part of any adult conversations they join. Let me give you some examples, 1)a friend of mine has a fourteen year old daughter she decided to follow a young rapper on his social media page he told me he had to have her unfriend him because most of his posts or comments on his page were about sex and drugs,2)two teen girls got talked into murdering a class mate by someone called slender man,3)a thirteen year old boy was befriended by some neo nazi adults,he ended up becoming a big leader of this group and ordered his followers to bomb a Las Vegas synagogue and detonate a car bomb at a major U.S. news network.4) people are encouraging children to do dangerous challenges online one encourager pops up on random kids shows by the name of momo it tells the kids to try suicide and to turn the gas on on the stove top. 5)there are hundreds of children including elementary school kids posting and sending nude pictures and videos to random people on the internet.6)I know of a parent that decided to check his kids Internet history and found all kinds of porn on it even animal porn. The list goes on you can look this stuff up for yourself.

The owners of the internet and these social media sites do not care about your children, they only care about the profits the internet brings them. That is why they push and donate tablets to schools, they are trying to get them started early so they can be life long customers. They even create classroom social media sites, they tell you it helps them learn. But what are they learning ? Do they need to be learning about social media before education ? Some children are bullied and harassed on social media resulting in suicidal thoughts. are they old enough to handle such harsh criticism?

I think social media sites need to be for adults or at least blocked until they are old enough to not get emotionally scared by a mean hateful person online. 

I do not think children should be surfing the wild Web without being in the presence of their parents.

I know it will be hard to say no to your children especially if their friends are allowed on there but we can not let the crazy Internet raise our kids.

I am asking the the social media sites to please make some changes some restrictions to prevent children from being on these social media sites. 

I am also asking parents to please say no to unsupervised Internet for kid's, they don't need it without you present and they sure don't need social media.
