As a new school year is approaching we, the parents of students in Maize USD 266 school district, would like the mask mandate to remain optional for all. After a year of data to look back on, new evidence is showing this virus does not spread at high rates among kids and is not a deadly threat to them. We feel masking all students is not effective or necessary. Parents should have the right to mask or unmask their students.
The safety, both physical and mental, of our kids is always number one. This should be a decision that’s made within the family. We want to work with our leaders and show the governing bodies that we stand together on mask choice.
