Kids need to be in school. Parents cannot be expected to make a decision to either stay home with their young children or put food on the table and a roof over their heads. This can be done safely. Open our schools

If we have to lose money and/or pay money to educate our children ourselves because the public school is no longer offering this service in a way that works for both parents & children, we should get all of the taxes we have paid toward public education back!!!

The negative impact on our students and parents is far greater when not allowing them in-person learning. The administration simply has no acceptable explanation for their fall school plan. As of today Springfield has recorded 1110 confirmed cases of covid 19 and 9 confirmed deaths. This is out of a Springfield population of 168,000 people. All of those deaths were older individuals with 5 of them from one assisted living facility. Is anyone aware of any children getting seriously ill here in Springfield from the virus? I am not. It's well known that children and young people (below 19yrs of age) can test positive without ANY symptoms. Really? Why would we want to keep over 25,000 students and their parents from the many benefits of in-person learning five days a week.
