Shannon Dinning started this petition to See the dream Parents of school aged children

Recently my daughter was on a zoom meeting in her class and another classmate recorded it.  This classmate sent the recording to a group of other students without knowing the impact it might have on my daughter.  The video was compromising and was devastating for my daughter and she felt as though she had her privacy violated.  Todays students have been forced into online learning during the pandemic without proper education on the dos and don'ts of online etiquette.   There has been limited training for students to understand the consequences of recording and posting videos to social media and the lifechanging impact it could have to children.  In addition many parents have not been given the education to better understand the importance of monitoring their children while they are doing online learning.  This petition is to demand a statewide requirement for all schools to provide a student education as well as a training for adults.  Cyberbullying is a major issue and has cost the lives of young ones who have been victims of online shame and cyberbullying and as a result have taken their own lives.  This petition is to educate, and prevent any further harm done by students who may be naive to the consequences of their actions.  Many students post videos and pictures without understanding how they might affect others. It only takes one post to go "viral" and to cause serious damage to a person's life forever.  We cannot expect our youth to spend 5 hours or more on the computer with access to online technology and assume they know how to use it in a responsible way without proper education.  Please help me educate and inform our youth and prevent any serious consequences that could occur from a innocent post gone viral and the impact it has on our fragile youth.
