Dear Parents of OPS schools

It has been brought to my attention that outbreaks of Covid-19 are becoming more and more frequent. The alarming rate increases daily at which Covid-19 and any of its new strains are affecting our community, schools, and worst our families. That is why I am starting this petition I believe that an at home remote schooling option should be put in place for those parents who choose to continue to shelter in place and keep our children out of schools to lessen the blow of Covid-19 and also to try to flatten the curve. I am hoping that I can get you to sign this petition to simply offer the option, this is by no means to make it mandatory for everyone but to give the option to those of us who have been affected greatly by kids becoming ill from attending school. If we could have this option it will help to keep our youth safe and also keep up on their studies so they do not suffer education wise either. Now is the time to act to make this option happen Covid-19 and the new strains are only increasing with each passing day, I have been in contact with OPS administration and they have made it quite clear that they have no intentions of going remote/offering remote as an option for parents at the start of second semester. While many districts across the US are making safe choices by choosing to go completely remote for the first week to two weeks post break. Please let me remind you that this is aimed towards those parents who simply want to have this as an option, if our school district is refusing to make a safe choice for us all, to help deter our children from contracting Covid-19 or any of its strains.
