Change the School's Uniform Policy to allow Jersey material skirts.
My daughter was pulled up in School, along with a lot of other female pupils and had teacher's tugging at her skirt, checking what material it was. Apparently Airedale Academy think it is acceptable to touch our children over the uniform policy because certain girls last year were pulling up their 'stretchy' skirts to show their gussets which in Airedale Academies words was/is 'obscene', so this year they have changed the uniform policy, to not allow that material of skirt, instead of treating those cases individually. Our children on their first days back in School were called "embarrassing" and "disturbing" all because of their skirts being a Jersey material, whilst I guarantee the teacher's that dished out the criticisms stood there with their tattoos, piercings and wild hair etc being majorly hypocritical.
Does what material of skirt our children are wearing affect their learning... NO!!! What affects their learning is being forced into Step Out and Isolation because of this and not being aloud into mainstream lessons. Basically, if we don't adhere to these rules, that is what our children face. If only Airedale Academy were as strict on their bullying policy they would probably have better stead and more cooperation but when they seriously think they can touch our children in school, check them on the way into school, but after school just stand and watch a child get attacked outside the school gates, and do nothing at all to stop this from happening is absolutely infuriating. Please sign this petition to get this over ruled so our children can continue to wear the Jersey material skirts and not miss out in any more of their education.
