Parent Pledge:

Prescription Drug Parent Pledge

• To demonstrate my support, I pledge to:
  • Talk to my teens about the dangers of prescription medicine and over-the-counter medicine.
  • Take inventory of my prescription and over-the-counter medicine.
  • Secure my medicine in a safe location.
  • Teach my teens to take all medicine only as prescribed.
  • Model responsible behavior with my own prescription medicine and over-the-counter medicine.

Alcohol Parent Pledge

• To demonstrate my support, I pledge to:
  • Talk to my teens about the dangers of underage drinking.
  • Take inventory of the alcohol in my house.
  • Secure my alcohol in a safe location.
  • Teach my teens to refuse alcohol so they can be healthy and safe.
  • Model responsible behavior with my own drinking.

Teenager Pledge:

• To demonstrate my support, I pledge to:
  • Support my friends and classmates by setting a positive example and being a voice against negative peer pressure.
  • Not take more of my prescription medicine than prescribed because prescription abuse kills one person every 25 minutes.
  • Not share prescription medicine.
  • Learn the signs of prescription medicine abuse because early detection and intervention can mean the difference between life and death.
• To demonstrate my support, I pledge to:
  • Live an alcohol, tobacco and other-drug free life.
  • Talk to my friends about the dangers of abusing alcohol.
  • Learn more about the harmful effects of alcohol.
  • Work collaboratively with my friends and peers to ensure that all teens are healthy.
