I am hoping that the parents of the Dearne Astraea academy  And other schools from the dearne area will join me in making a change regarding the schools recent behaviour surrounding the new ‘policies’ they are trying to enforce.

Within days of returning to education, many students have been caused distress surrounding the way the school is now operating. With many children facing detentions(many without parents been informed) for a string of absurd reasons. Mostly due to apparent non compliance of school uniform policy - (many students wore the exact same shoes as advised to in the uniform ‘policy however were still taken to detention). I do not disagree that uniform should be worn however, the extent this is been taken to is ridiculous, detentions and exclusions for not only shoes that are advertised in the policy but silly reasons. Children left feeling upset and distressed and parents having to leave work or are left wondering why their child has not returned from school because they have been taken to detention, isolated or even excluded.

The school uniform policy needs to be relaxed as this is causing chaos across the board.

Education is supposedly the upmost important thing however this is not been demonstrated when pupils are removed from mainstream lessons because they ‘apparently have the wrong uniform, their ruler is too short, the aren’t wearing their blazer because it is WARM’.

This needs to change.
