Solve the truck/traffic problem!

Do you live in Pyrgos, Pareklisha, or any of the neighbouring villages and suffer from being stuck behind slow, air polluting trucks on your way to the office, or on your way home? Do you almost have accidents entering the highway due to the extremely low speed of the trucks infront of you? Do bits of gravel fall off the trucks and hit and damage your windshield? Do you ever put your own life at risk by trying to overtake dangerously on the curves or speed bumps because you simply can't take it anymore? 

Do you get stuck in traffic every summer weekend and at peak hours, as you try to get on or off the highway, at the Pareklishia / Pyrgos exit? Are you constantly late because of this? Does it make living in this area, or going out on weekends (even if you dont live here but are coming to this area to attend an event at a hotel) very frustrating? Are you fed up with all this time wasted in traffic and seriously want to find a solution?

The truth is this area of Limassol has become very busy over the years, with the construction of hotels, bars and towers, so our once adequate, simple village roads can no longer support the increasing population, business and traffic in the area.

The locals of this area, as well as general residents of Limassol who travel to this are of town, are suffering silently for many years now and, like the roads, have finally reached their limit. We now want to put a limit to the amount of trucks using our village roads at all times of day, and to find a solution to the increasing traffic problem at the highway junction which goes under the bridge.

So far, suggested ideas are:

1) To restrict trucks driving from cement factory to highway and back, on the main Pareklisha Road, to certain hours of day (or find an alternate route for them) into town.

2) To enlarge the main road (or a portion of it closer to highway) to 2 lanes, to ease congestion.

3) To put a roundabout at the Chesters junction under the bridge to relieve the traffic under the highway. 

4) To install 'smart' traffic lights to help alleviate traffic at the Chesters T-Junction, under the bridge. 

5) All of the above
