Renai Mattu started this petition to Pantai Hillpark Phase 3 Committee and Management

We wish to thank the Committee and Management of Pantai Hillpark Phase 3 of their concern for the safety of families using the pool.

However, we wish to appeal to the Committee and Management with reference to the recent circular dated 3rd October, 2020 regarding the Swimming Pool Rules:

4 (a) there shall be no cycling around the pool except on small bicycles with training wheels

(b) there should be no ball games (anything will a ball)

Most children using this particular area of the pool for their exercise and recreation, are young and under the supervision of their parents. Having spoken to a number of parents of young children (under 6 years), including myself, we find limited area in the complex for children to run around, without the danger of cars and motorbikes. The pool area is a communal area often used by families.

We feel the decision to disallow all ball games unnecessarily harsh and would like to appeal to the committee to rescind this decision.

If the children are out of hand or do not have adult supervision, it would, of course, be at the discretion of the security guard to intervene. As per the circular, we agree that “the best compliance is self-regulation” and have found that within our community families do look out for each other around the pool. Thus, there is no need for a harsh ban on ball-games around the area.

Health is important, especially during these times where we are limited in options of where we can enjoy recreation. We would like for the Committee to further consider:

1) establishing an area for ball games for older children

2) allocating a basketball/netball ring for older children

This online petition is signed by the residents of Pantai Hillpark Phase 3. We look forward to your consideration and a favorable decision at your next committee meeting.

Stay Safe!

Regards,

Pantai Hillpark Residents
