Ensuring that masking remain optional in the Panhandle School District for the 21/22 yr
In addressing mask policy for the 2021-2022 school the Panhandle School district stated at their July board meeting that they fully backed a masking optional policy. In August the district released a statement requiring masking for all students and staff pre-k through 12th grade.
We the parents of students in the Panhandle district and taxpayers who support the students of the district are asking that the Panhandle school board stand by that decision originally made in July and allow students, staff, and families the freedom to decide for themselves if wearing a mask while at school is right for them.
We do not wish to deny those who would choose a mask that prerogative, we just ask to be given the same consideration in our choices. By standing with the mask optional approach the board has given back the freedom of choice supported by over 50 peer reviewed studies that state masks do not work to stop viral spread. For the physical, social, mental, and emotional well-being of those in Panhandle buildings we ask that the policy remain optional.
