As the whole world struggle with the CoVID-19 epidemic; and while the whole world faces problems, we learners get affected by these problems too. Mental concentration is key to keeping the enormous quantities of work in our heads and a small imbalance may lead to a lot of effects. While we don't scold for the quantities of work we have to go through, us students contemplate the fact that we've been disturbed and hence our concentration is lost.

The other major factor that you must consider beside student's mentality, is the risk of the infection itself. This virus that we're facing- as you brilliant people know already is constantly changing its ground ZERO, starting from Wuhan and now to Europe. Who knows what next?

And imagine you did have the exams, and you did all the background checks on your staff side, but we can't really test 150 student's coming to a hall, can we? And if one single child has all the symptoms, but didn't test the virus because his test is tomorrow; something he/she has been working for two years or even 12 years of his/her life, spent countless money for school, classes, and exam fees, can we expect at least a probability of 50% of the student deciding to stay home?

And during the exam, he coughs, sneezes; everyone can hear a cough. and suddenly EVERY STUDENT in the hall is concerned. EVERYONE is panicked but trying to calm themselves down to concentrate on the paper. But AlAS! No use, you've just lost your concentration, tipped the balance in your head and writing rubbish. As a result, people who are really concerned get a low grade, and that's not fair.

But say we let the standardization do the trick and we all get our deserved result. But, what about our health? Simulate the event of infection (and no one can deny a possibility when the same person meets the same batch of people for 2 times a week in the same hall), how could you ensure safety? All the students won't wear a mask from the time they leave home to the time they arrive back, for some that is a 10-hour duration if they write both am and pm sessions.

And if we say, in the unfortunate event, someone dies of infection? One? two? maybe more; because these kids just burnt their midnight oil to get through these syllabi and their immunity is very weak. Would you take the responsibility? Or is this a try-at-your-own-risk?

Dear Cambridge examinations,

First and foremost, allow me to ask for forgiveness. I am not a student who is rude toward any elder or any institution. I'm just a concerned student who wants to achieve outstanding results for the hard work I've been doing for 12 years. I scored 97 for math and 96 for chem in my OLs accompanying 5A* and I want to achieve more for my ALs but extremely scared whether I can, because I've been disturbed by this situation. In a country like Sri Lanka, parents are also extremely caring for their children and sometimes can be overprotective. And now they are scared and because of that even we are.  We understand all the efforts your institution does every year to give us a very fair paper ( I imagine we got your backup maths paper one before last year, rumored to be because of a leak) and we really appreciate the effort. But at this time we simply can't. Please provide us with a very fair and humane solution. Till then we're studying.
