Stop the legalization of the growing of marijuana plants in Canadian homes.

The Canadian government is proposing that marijuana plants be allowed under the law to be grown in Canadian homes. This is a dangerous move that will expose children to toxic molds, fungi, and contaminants as well as give them more exposure to the plants themselves. This poses a risk to their wellbeing, health and safety and should be rejected outright. Marijuana drug policy that fails to protect the interests of children breaches their fundamental human right to security of self. Bill C45 - the Canadian Cannabis Bill allows for plants in the home and must be amended or rejected by the Canadian Senate to adequately protect children and youth. Placing marijuana plants in the home also exposes children to an increased risk of robbery and violence. There is no possible way that law enforcement will be able to enforce the limit of four plants and therefore this policy further exposes young persons to the illlicit drug market as home grows will in all probability prosper under the provision for home grows.
