For low-income households with children returning to school following confinement, school uniforms are an unaffordable expense. The requirement to purchase school uniforms placed unexpected and significant financial strains on already stretched budgets. In addition, uniform costs tend to concentrate at the start of the academic year, which can be a source of acute concern and worry for low-income families. We created this petition to remove the uniform policy as it is both insensitive and unreasonable. We ask for your support and solidarity as we continue to fight for equity among all CEC students!
