Update on Summer Streets

Jul 23, 2020 —

Hi everyone,

Great news, Summer Streets is working! Many businesses are reporting substantial increases in revenue and have been able to re-employ staff. As a community, we’re all in this together. We need to preserve the vitality of our downtown districts. Creating outdoor dining and retails spaces is helping our local businesses meet overwhelming challenges.

 Here's todays call to action.

Many businesses have asked for an extension of Summer Streets through the end of the year. This will allow businesses to further invest in personnel and equipment to support outside dining and retail.

Council reconvenes August 10th and it’s expected that they will make a decision about extending the program. Please let them know if you support continuing Summer Streets through the end of the year.

Email our City Council members and City Manager Ed Shikada.
