1) Water should not be wasted IF it is pumped.
2) Long term effects of this practice are negative. Ground subsidence is inevitable.

I had 2 homes built across the street from me, by the same buyer, and there were 13 pumps running 24/7 for almost a year in both holes, because both were having full basements built. This cause my property and my driveways to drop and crack, to the point of severe damage. No one gave a damn but me, and it should of never been permitted by the city. I'm still mad about it because now my driveways are dangerous, and I had them both re done just before this pumping began, but you'd never know it now!

Not only is precious water wasted, but houses develop cracks and structural changes.

Neighbors dewatering has caused problems at my house...doors sticking, etc. and trees suffering.

Depleting the groundwater leads to settling of existing homes, and may damage our tree canopy

Don't allow basements where water has to be pumped out of the ground. Stop oversizing our city.

Water is too precious to waste. Our trees depend on groundwater. If our neighbor sucks the groundwater out, our AND the City's trees will suffer, perhaps die, because I cannot afford to water them.
