DRIVE for FIVE is a nonpartisan group of concerned Palm Desert residents who advocate for the implementation of the 5 voting districts in the City of Palm Desert (“5 District Voting Plan”).  

The group seeks to work cooperatively with the Palm Desert City Council to implement 5 District Voting for the 2022 election and beyond.  We'd like to see them do this in the next election, rather than delaying it to an indeterminate time in the future..

We, the undersigned residents of Palm Desert,
respectively request the City Council to implement the five
district voting system for the 2022 City Council election.

Signing this petition asks the Council to implement district-by-district, rather than "ad hoc" or "at large", representation.  We will be sharing this list of names with the City Council.

We recommend that you DO NOT CONTRIBUTE TO PROMOTIONS FOR THIS PETITION.  Not that we don't want to support Change.org (which is where the money goes, and we are grateful for them), but it ends up sharing our petition to a much wider audience than we're trying to reach.

We are trying to gather signatures of support only from Palm Desert residents.  Those signatures, specifically, will have the most influence on the Palm Desert City Council in weighing their decision to proceed with the five district plan.
