Ubaid Amjad started this petition to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and

Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) mobile game has been temporarily banned in Pakistan by the concerned authority (PTA).
We the regular users of the app find it a violation of our rights, where we are forced to stop using it. This petition is subjected to raise our concerns over this ban to the concerned authorities i.e Chairman of PTA & others.

Mr Chairman, The reasons stated in the press release of PTA stated that the game play causes health and psychological complications in young kids. Dear sir, let me clarify the latest steps taken by PUBG Administration to limit the bandwidth for the minor (under 18) players. A minor player cannot play the game for more than 5 hours a day, and after reaching that limit he is automatically logged out of the game for the rest of the day. This game is not for under 16 users, and it is clearly mentioned at the downloading sites. Now if in some individual cases, below 16 kids are playing the game by giving false information in their google accounts or misusing their parents' accounts, then it's the fault at the end of parents or guardians who have failed in controlling their kids. Banning the app just because of such cases is an injustice to other users (majority of users).

Now, let me share another aspect of this game and how much it has affected people's lives positively. Since the dawn of this century a lot of determined youngsters have left the conventional ways of careers, discovering new potentials in modern media and thus pursuing their careers in those directions while leaving trails for others to follow. Software, Web and App developers, as well as Social Media Influencers, Youtube vloggers, Web bloggers or Professional Gamers are some of the major examples of such careers. In recent years, PUBG has also contributed in this, and a lot of young professional gamers have made their careers through this app by online streaming, playing global tournaments etc. There are dozens of Pakistani Professionals who have made their name through PUBG in last two years. Now with this ban their whole careers are at risk, and such a thing gives rise to depression, anxiety and ultimately suicidal thoughts.

Sir, in every era, changing of dynamics is a source of universal conflict between generations. It is a universal fact that every new generation differs from the older one in ideas, and the older ones don't comprehend and thus oppose the new ideologies. The reason behind the complaints against this App is also the same. Therefor, it is the need of the hour to address the real problem, which is lack of efficient parenting and lack of awareness in parents about using modern technology, and find out a solution to this problem. Whereas, Banning the app is not a solution of this problem at all and banning it because some people cannot understand it, is a total injustice. Thus, We, the signees of this petition, demand that you lift the ban and support our right and freedom of choice.

Thank You
