Any one with Paducah Power knows how unfathomably high the bills can get. In fact this month ours was $300....

In their recent Final Rate Study Report:

"POWER COST ADJUSTMENT CLAUSE

PURPOSE:
The purpose of Power Cost Adjustment clause is to provide for recovery of PPS’s power supply costs not recovered in its base energy charges. The treatment of over/under recoveries of such costs is described below. "

Base energy charges are not, a result from the actions on consumers. It is the direct result of contracts made with power sourcing and distribution companies. It should not be the responsibility of tax paying consumers.

Now here is the question... How is this practice legal? After bringing this situation to light in a public forum, I was disheartened to hear stories from a multitude of people saying that they have personally had to make huge life decisions revolving around the cost of their electricity. And why? 

As a single person it would be impossible to make any changes... So this petition will be our chance to voice our concern as a community. Either lower our bills, or allow us to rezone the electrical facilitation in McCracken and surrounding counties.
