Food insecurity in our area has increased 57% but the funding for the State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) has been slashed again and again despite higher food costs and a 100% increase in demand. The result is less food for more people. We urge the State legislature to allocate the requested $24 million for SFPP, a budget line item that is essential for the health and well being of Pennsylvania’s citizens. Support the members of the Jewish community of the Greater Philadelphia area who are concerned about hunger in our state and the critical need for adequate funding of the SFPP. Our seniors, children and families are counting on you! We need you to be a CHAMPION and support $24 million in funding for SFPP in the 2013-14 budget.
