Parents who share 50/50 custody should not be subjected to child support payments. Each parent is responsible for the child when the child is in their care 50 percent of the time. It is unfair for the defendant to pay their own 50 percent of the time when they have the child plus the plantiff's 50 percent, especially when one parent works very hard and the other does not. Overtime should not be allowed to be included and the parent paying the child support should be entitled to claim the child each year on taxes. The custody and child support laws focus on the mothers and the fathers are treated unfairly and this only occurs in PA. These laws need to change the court makes it hard for fathers to be with their children.
