To many of us who lived through the 1990's and 2000's, Blockbuster Video wasn't just some video rental store, it was a part of life. Who doesn't remember Friday nights where you would order a pizza and rent "The Spy Who Shagged Me" from your friendly neighborhood Blockbuster? It brought people together and made people happy as movie night became a staple of our everyday culture. Unfortunately, that time has passed. Online streaming from media giants such as Netflix and Hulu have killed all but one North American Blockbuster in Bend, Oregon. But this scrappy store managed to hang in there, and we want to help it. By making the last remaining Blockbuster store a National Historic Landmark, we can ensure that the legacy of renting movies and eating Junior Mints in your friend's cool basement will live on forever.
