Casey Blake started this petition to Oxfordshire County Council

90 children a day are being placed into the care system. That’s 2,520 a month in England.

Children as young as babies and young adults are being withheld from having any contact with their siblings because of abusive parents wanting control. This needs to stop.

I’m starting a project for all children in care to have more rights and be allowed to see their siblings without jurisdiction.

As a care leaver I’d like to make a change in this field as it is damaging for any child to be refused contact for as long as years for no reason other than abuse and control.

As well as this I think every child who has lost a sibling(s) to the system should have the right to be told what has happened, where the child has gone, and if wanted, how contact can be made between them instead of them being left in the dark.

There has been no work in this area and I’d like to make a change, not just for myself but for any child or young person in care, or any care leaver or any person affected by this.

I am part of the children in care council and we work alongside voxy (Voice of Oxfordshire Youth.)

As part of my project I’d like as many signatures as possible from the public, wether you’re a child or young person in care, leaver, adopted, a sibling of or would just like to make a difference,  your help and time is truly appreciated!
