James Mahoney started this petition to Oxford English Dictionary

For many a year I have been labelled as a squid. Many would think this would be offensive, but for the king of the squid, I take personal pride in my squiddy texture.

I believe squid to be incredible creatures, and I think that it is extremely offensive to squid (and therefore me) that they do not have their own individual collective noun.

Lesser creatures, such as crows and caterpillars have fantastic, descriptive collective nouns. So I am tabling the motion that squid should be up there too!

And as king of these cephalopods, why not call them a “Mahoney”.
