Thai Nguyen started this petition to Oxford English Dictionary

We would like to add the word "Gullible" to the dictionary. For far too long this word has been overlooked and overshadowed as a fake word. However, it is time for a change. This word has been an iconic part of timeless jokes and pranks played by people of all ages. I'm sure that you can imagine my shock and dismay when my dear friends told me that the people at the Oxford English Dictionary didn't put the word "Gullible" in their dictionary.

Gullible is an amazing word that truly deserves to be in the dictionary. Far more than some of these fake words such as "Whatevs" "Sumfin" "Chillax" and "Simples". The fact is, Gullible has a much more important part of societal culture and history than many of the current words in the dictionary.  Some of my most fond memories of middle school were the competition to write gullible on the gym ceiling, I would check every day to see if it was there, and sitting on the swings trying to say gullible slowly enough that it sounds like orange. Lastly, I remember being told in history class that being gullible was contagious and that it had caused a world epidemic in the '20s. how could such a disastrous event not result in gullible being added to the dictionary?

As you can see, the word "Gullible" has played an important part in my childhood and the history of this country, and as such, I believe that we should finally add gullible to the dictionary.
