Ban Release of Kaala

The copper smelter plant operated by Sterlite in Tuticorin, Tamil Naadu, India was shut down in May 2018 due to 13 protestors killed and many others injured, by police. In regards to this issue, actor Rajinikanth has stated that the protestors are extremists, and is trying to justify the shooting of these civilians due to political motives. The protestors fought for a good cause since Sterlite was causing environmental pollution along with severe health issues to civilians.

We strongly oppose Rajinikanth’s actions of trying to justify the death of these protestors. Let us Tamils in Canada unite, and ban the release of his upcoming movie Kaala as done in Switzerland and Norway. Owners of Woodside and York Cinemas, we ask that you do not release Kaala, Rajinikanth’s film.
