So, they have scrapped covid special leave for NHS staff at a time when covid cases and hospital admissions are rising. This is unfair and unacceptable to the hardworking and already exhausted NHS staff. This means covid will be treated as sickness absence, which means potentially investigation can be taken on an employee once their sickness trigger point has been reached. With the cost of living rising the way it is, employees will be unable to risk action being taken against then and could be forced to work sick, thus allowing the spread of covid to rise further more.

Special covid leave for  NHS staff needs to be reinstated. After all, we are asked to stay away from work if we test positive.
