Stop Abusive, Unethical and Frustrating TRAC Toll Road (N4) Processes

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

This petition is the result of the abuse and disrespect the PAYING public must endure at TRAC Middelburg.  Residents of Middelburg and Witbank are subjected to an abusive, frustrating, and unethical process causing unnecessary distress with a concession application. By TRAC own staff admittance: “Necessary for ‘Job Creation’”

Due to this unacceptable behaviour by TRAC the PAYING PUBLIC request FULL DISCLOSURE, FULL AUDIT and transparency on TRAC in public interest of Middelburg/Witbank/Nelspruit and the rest of the public along the N4 TRAC Toll Road on the contract/agreement between the government and TRAC, financial beneficiaries and receiving/distribution of the billions received from the PAYING PUBLIC since 1997.

POINTS OF CONCERN:

  • TRAC staff does not understand the meaning of an affidavit. An affidavit is legally binding, and you can be charged with perjury if the affidavit contains false information.  TRAC continuously asked you to change your affidavit to disclose information that is not listed as a requirement in their provided scrambled guidelines.  It becomes suspicious when you need to change your affidavit for the 3rd time. This is what TRAC do to abuse and frustrate the applicant.  It is unethical and unacceptable.
  • TRAC took 17 working days to disapprove the card application about missing information that is not listed as a requirement in their provided scrambled guidelines.   According to TRAC’s own admittance it should take 14 working days to review your application.  This is what TRAC do to abuse and frustrate the applicant.  It is frustrating and unacceptable.
  • TRAC send you a "disapprove" SMS at 4:54pm on Friday afternoon without any customer care to assist the paying public.  This office close at 5pm.  This is what TRAC do to abuse and frustrate the applicant.  It is disrespectful and unacceptable
  • TRAC only POLICY (http://www.tracn4.co.za/ policy.html) is anti-corruption.  There is NO Policy or Name of the institution that regulates TRAC - where the paying public is being protected against abuse from TRAC.  Financial abuse and otherwise.  The TRAC staff misuse their authority to unnecessarily distress paying customers.  It is concerning to see how their conduct and behaviour toward the public seem normal to them.

 OTHER CONCERNS:

This conduct was reported to the Executive Mayor MA Masina of Steve Tshwete Local Municipality.  This issue was passed to his Personal Assistant.  TO DATE (after 30 days) – NO RESPONSE. We expected more from a Mayor and his team where the city of Middelburg, Mpumalanga was town of the year in 2015!

OUR REQUEST AND RECOMMENDATION:

If TRAC is REGULATED by an independent institution by statute:

  • We require the NAME of the institution that regulates TRAC. This institution should ensure that customers are treated fairly by the TRAC, and that the customer enjoy a safe, fair and ethical environment.
  • We as the paying public require FULL DISCLOSURE and transparency since 1997 on:
  • ---  the full contract/agreement between the Government and TRAC,
  • ---  who are the financial beneficiaries (with amount/percentages) of this contract/agreement (once off or regularly),
  • --- the billions received and distributed by TRAC.

If TRAC is not REGULATED by an independent institution by statute:

  • We require an independent institution by statute to oversee TRAC in the public interest.
  • All Toll Gate Fees charged by TRAC should be regulated.
  • We require an independent ombudsman by statute to consider disputes between consumers and TRAC.
  • We as the paying public require FULL DISCLOSURE and FULL AUDIT and transparency since 1997 on:
  • --- the full contract/agreement between the Government and TRAC,
  • --- who are the financial beneficiaries (with amount/percentages) of this contract/agreement (once off or regularly),
  • --- the billions received and distributed by TRAC.

CONCLUSION:

No more abusive and disrespectful behaviour towards the paying public by TRAC.

No more malicious attempts by TRAC staff to frustrate the paying public in their card application rights.

We as the PAYING PUBLIC request FULL DISCLOSURE, FULL AUDIT and transparency on TRAC in public interest of Middelburg/Witbank/Nelspruit and the rest of the public along the N4 TRAC Toll Road on the contract/agreement between the government and TRAC, financial beneficiaries and receiving/distribution of the billions received from the PAYING PUBLIC since 1997.
