We as concerned parents and community members from the Yeshivah Beth Rivkah schools are writing to the YBRSL (Yeshivah Beth Rivkah Schools Limited) board to register our protest and dismay concerning recent actions taken by the principal, Rabbi Yehoshua Smukler, and the YBRSL board of directors. These recent actions affect our devoted staff members and our school community.

Below is the petition we submit to the YBRSL board.

Dear members of the YBRSL board,

We are writing to express our deep concern in relation to information sourced from the YBRSL Board that

1. There are massive staff changes being implemented by you, which include dismissals and redeployment of long standing staff which will forever corrode the fabric of Yeshivah and Beth Rivkah Schools if allowed to proceed.

2. Included in the decision making of these drastic changes is an outgoing principal who, by taking this action, is binding his successor(s) which is considered unfair, unnecessary, unjustifiable and irresponsible.

3. These decisions were made without any consultation with key stakeholders.

4. The actions you have taken have destabilised the institution and demoralised your dedicated and loyal staff.

As a consequence of your above actions the Board does not retain the confidence of the undersigned/stakeholders of the community.

We call upon you to explain, justify and answer questions about the changes you seek to make at a town hall meeting of the community. The town hall meeting is to take place Thursday 4th April at a local venue to be advised.
