Licensing for The Paddock Bar at The Old Racecourse

The Old Racecourse is having to diversify and as part of this process is becoming more accessible to the local community. Until TOR closed to the public in 1964 the site was a busy thriving venue that played a huge part in the local economy. Since then it has been 'off limits' and in private ownership. Operating from a converted horse lorry the Paddock Bar is one of a few low key and environmentally sensitive proposals that will cater for visitors, enhancing their experience and providing an opportunity to learn about the historic and current activities at TOR.
The Paddock Bar is only open at weekends and closes at sunset, providing a family friendly environment during non disruptive hours. Walkers, cyclists, riders and anyone using the busy route between Lewes and the South Downs will have the opportunity to stop for refreshments. There is no vehicular access. SDNPA have acknowledged there is no where else providing this service locally and proven demand over the last few months supports this.
A small minority of immediate neighbours don't like the idea of our bar or more visitors to the area. Please help us make The Old Racecourse a better and more enjoyable place to visit by supporting The Paddock Bar!
