I'm signing this petition because I am a school district employee and I've seen the negative impact this has had on educators as well as the public school districts in Georgia.

Recently I graduated with a dual degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. I successfully passed my GACE exams on the professional level but was unable to complete edTPA. I’m currently unable to use my degree and can not get a job as a teacher due to my incompletion of edTPA.

Because I know, firsthand, that quality teachers come from all kinds of educational backgrounds and those with demonstrated classroom teaching success already shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to get certified!

The edTPA is prohibiting quality teachers from coming into the teaching profession.

Do right and we won't have to petition! Everyone has a heart and conscience use it. But if not we'll do what we have to by any means necessary

I teach in Colorado and know the struggle teachers have to commit time to both their students and their professional development obligations. It's difficult to balance both. While I believe teaching programs need to change to better support new educators, this is not the way to go about it, particularly for those already teaching.
