My mother Norah will be 93 in April. She has Dementia but as her main Carer I have managed along with a great care team to keep her in her own home where she loves since being diagnosed almost 13 years ago now not long after my father passed away. She is an exceptional lady with such strength and courage and she has always been a joy to be around. She loves her home by the sea where she has great memories and feeds the birds on her windowsill daily. She broke her hip 3 years ago and I worked tirelessly to get her up walking again which we did and she has had a super 3 years. She denied any aids supplied and told me to "Take them away!" Mummy unfortunately broke the other hip about 4 weeks ago but has since come through this major trauma again and is doing exceptionally well. She really is a trooper. Her daughter who lives in Scotland who was made financial controller years ago by The OCP. She  has tried tirelessly to have Mummy put into a home. I have always opposed this. She visits about 2 or 3 times a year for a night or two at a time. On Christmas Eve she came across to NI and took my mother without advising me over to Scotland on the ferry where she put her into a nursing home for Christmas for 4 days. Apart from the fact we had Christmas planned with my mother she had her assessed whilst there and returned her 4 days later.  Mummy on return was confused and upset and could remember nothing. After mummy's recent fall I received an e mail to say that my mother should have re hab in the said nursing home in Scotland. She enclosed a report from the home which was a total misrepresentation of my mother. It made her out to be totally incapable of managing by herself... of course it would as she was thrown into a world that she did not recognise! The daughter then turned up to the hospital where mummy was about a week ago whilst I was having a break and without me knowing with a wheelchair to take her to Scotland. Luckily the medical staff refused to discharge her and would not allow such a terrible act. I know that my mothers daughter plan is to eventually get her to Scotland.  To take my mother away from all she loves and put her somewhere alien would kill her. She has family and friends here who regularly visit and most importantly myself who plays a massive part in her life. She loves my son Ben who regularly pops in to see her. My mother needs protected. Something is very wrong here when the one that is supposed to be protected is actually really vulnerable. I would like to see my sister removed as controller and a solicitor appointed to replace her.
