Feb 3, 2016 — Hello all,
With a heavy heart we are writing you all to admit defeat. We have been informed that, despite your overwhelming support, the pressure has been increased on El Callejon to move out quickly. Clearly, our pleas were ignored. This started as a last minute grassroots movement to possibly gain a couple hundred signatures and to feel like we did something. All we did was provide a platform, and all of you took it and ran. It has been an incredible display of community love and support, and one you should all be proud of. 1200 signatures in three days is no joke, and such an indicator of this amazing extended community we live in. We received support from all over the country, even signatures from abroad. The owner and El Callejon Family is forever grateful for each and every one of you.
We end this campaign with the same purpose with which we started it-which is to support El Callejon. Their search for another location continues, and when that location opens up we hope you will all be there waiting for Oscar to make you a margarita. As Roberto Jourdain, Manager of El Callejon, said this evening, "I have to find the right place for this magic to continue." And he will.
Thank you all for coming together-it has been an inspiring display of community. One that we are certainly proud to have been a part of.
With much gratitude,
Your El Callejon "family"
