Bangalore is blessed to have so many parks so close to the residential areas. I think there is at-least one BBMP park in 1 km radius of so many residential areas in Bangalore. 

But sadly most of them are not open full day on weekends. Opening them full day at-least 5:00 am to 7:00 pm will be a great gift to the kids and parents at the same time.

Listing down couple of reasons I think the BBMP has

• Maintenance team wants rest?
  • Let us talk to more people on ground and figure out if this is the case.
• Maintenance team doesn't want any disturbance during the cleanup.
  
  • This is a fair ask. But I have also seen them do the maintenance activity during mornings and not specially during these slots. 
• Complaints from RWAs and walking associations
  • Should be dealt in better ways. Shouldn't yield to them just because they raise a concern.
• The team is not compensated enough?
  • Can we have one base phone given to the maintenance team so that whoever is happy can donate directly to them as tips?

I will be using this page to collect the data together and keep updating them. Some of the data I was able to gather

1. There are 1288 parks in Bangalore. Let that sink in.
2. Total area under BBMP parks is 2,14,58,469 square feet. Two crores, fourteen lakhs square feet.

Data I am looking to gather

• What is the cost of maintenance per park.
• How many employees are there per park.
• Does most of the park maintenance family stay within the premises?
• What are their salaries?
• Is it legal to pass on tips to them.
