This year the University of Otago Sportwoman of the year award was given to a biological man. 

That means that all across our country this year, thousands of women who have given their absolute all to gain recognition for their hard-earned sporting achievements have been left feeling shortchanged, and rightly so.

That's not the New Zealand I have always loved. Because Kiwis are fair. 

Let's make some noise on behalf of all the amazing female athletes we are blessed with here in Aotearoa.
