Otago Daily Times apologises for 'insensitive' cartoon mocking Samoa measles crisis however the cartoonist Garrick Tremain will not be issuing a public apology for his choice of actions and mockery of the crisis happening in the Pacific Island of Samoa.

To date the measles death toll is currently 55 people, majority of this figure are innocent children under four years of age.

Comments of disgust and support a like have come from afar including former All Black Sonny Bill Williams who responded: "Racism has no heart. Prayers for our children." Posted by the player on social media.

This is not the first time Garrick Tremain has gained attention for drawing a controversial cartoon.

Indigenous people from the Pacific have had enough of Garrick Tremain actions and his inappropriate drawings discriminating towards the indigenous people of Oceania and it is time he faced some consequences.

Otago Daily Times you have the chance to bring some correction to this situation and show you are a newspaper outlet for the nation; no matter race, skin colour or religion.
