The McLaughlin's were a major part of the car industry and the city of Oshawa certainly profited from their business. It would be a crime to destroy the house and wipe out history leaving the McLaughlin name to a memory. Declare it a heritage site and use the building for a tourist attraction or for public service. Could be a health center, manpower (jobs), City hall offices, etc. Do the right thing and save the last vestige of the McLaughlin legacy. Yours truly, W. Robert Elliott.

I'm so disappointed and fedup with the powers to be of not preserving Oshawa's history. The mayor Dan Carter seems to have the City's priorities all screwed up!
