Kenansville is a small unincorporated community in Osceola County Fl, centered primarily around agriculture farms, ranches, and residents who appreciate small town living. The residents of Kenansville, unfortunately, are now faced with a proposed Biosolids Treatment Facility located at the Folsom Ranch 705 S. Canoe Creek Rd.

Biosolids is a waste product that is very complex mixture of biological and chemical pollutants. These can include but are not limited to; carcinogens, neurotoxins, endocrine disruptors, radioactive waste, pharmaceutical waste, industrial waste (hospital, morgues, crematoriums, slaughterhouses) solvents and disease causing antibiotic resistant pathogens.

The residents of Kenansville cannot afford, and do not deserve to have their air polluted and only source of clean water ruined. These residents rely on private wells to source water from underground aquifers, which are extremely susceptible to pollution due to their shallow depth- some as less than 30 feet below ground level.

Let us not forget the impact of the smell, pest, buzzards, mosquitoes and flies that will feed of of this material and the risk that this carries. As an unincorporated town, our only means of transportation is a small two lane road that will be damaged by the trucks that are used to haul the bio-hazardous sludge to this facility.

There are to many unanswered questions about the dangers of Biosolids - and as a community, we should be aware of what we are being exposed to - as well as the impact on our health, environment, wildlife, water supply and future.

Please know that this may not be in your city or town now, but a facility like this could easily be permitted and constructed in your neighborhood - without you knowing. There are no benefits that outweigh the risks and dangers. We are asking for your help to preserve Florida in its best state.

By signing this petition, you are joining hands with the Community of Kenansville and are asking the Osceola County Board of Commissioners and Authorities not to allow the construction of the second Biosolids Treatment Facility in Kenansville, Florida.

We are truly grateful for your help.
