Off-Leash Dog Park for Oroville Lake area in Butte County

The DWR has recently spent over a million dollars upgrading the equestrian parking area near saddle dam. I am also aware more is to be spent for additional upgrades at this location. This is wonderful for the few people who can afford horses however, for the majority population of dog owners, they may feel slighted. I believe that an off-leash dog park is critical for our area and would be something most residents would use. The cost to build a dog park would be minimal compared to what has been spent for equestrian use. Many of you, including myself, have been threatened and under constant watch by State Park Rangers looking for dog leash violations even though there is literally no place to run your dog off leash. I am aware of the so called dog park near river bend park however, there isn't a husband or father that would dare send their wife or daughter to such an unsafe place populated with drug users and pushy homeless. I am pushing for a an off-leash dog park in our area possibly at Loafer Creek or other property in the area. The DWR has already started construction on their new boat ramps and other park upgrades. Now is the time to get this done. I am looking for support from our community and would love to see a response form interested individuals by signing this petition and reposting to your social networks. Thank you, Gail
