This in an important amenity for the local community, prevents unnecessary travel for waste disposal and reduces the likelihood of fly-tipping or burning.

I'm signing this because I don't understand why OIC opened bigger, busier dumps at the drop of a hat but why they can't open a peedier one out in the Hope. It's not green or practical to make people drive a 40 mile round trip just to get rid of some rubbish.

The ongoing closure discriminates against the local residents by forcing them into time & travel costs to Kirkwall, causing unnecessary air pollution, sometimes leading to half an hour's queuing only to be turned away. We go, we deposit our waste in the appropriate receptacle, we depart - simples! Not rocket science, does not need huge manpower input just a person on the gate if deemed necessary to manage number of users, particularly as the Hope site was not staffed.

There is no valid reason to keep the recycling site closed. The people using it are not five years old, they are capable of using whatever measures they think necessary at this time, social distancing etc. The continued closure is just a way for the Council to save money and will probably result in fly-tipping so start providing this service which people have paid for. You should also spend some money on putting lights on the second barrier, one of the most dangerous roads in the UK instead of endless reports and studies on what should be done.

I'm signing because yet again the linked south isles are being treated as the poor relation by the O.I.C. We've been without the Civic Amenity Centre throughout the Covid-19 lockdown whereas other similar facilities (Kirkwall, Stromness) have been available for use by their populations. Will the O.I.C. grant us a council tax rebate in respect of the non-available facility? Will they ****!
