In Zimbabwe whole communities are displaced without consultation, and without compensation from their lands by foreign organisations especially the Chinese that want to mine granite. They displace them without any form of compensation and these people lose their ancestral land they have occupied for many many years. They lose their livelihood, way of life as a community and the areas being taken from them has their fire fathers buried in them and in some instances they disturb traditional sacred places. The ecological set up of the places is disturbed as there will be so much dust emanating from the mining activities. If the takeover was negotiated and agreed it will be much better but in this case they just use their powers and wealth to drive away the local poor people who holds not so much power against these greedy Chinese. I wish organisations that deal with buying granite stop the business or check if there is fair trade on how the businesses are carried out. I plead with governments and organisation to stop the plight of poor Zimbabweans being exploited by the Chinese mining granite in Zimbabwe. While they do their business as well they don’t respect labour practices and in most cases they don’t pay their workers fairly.
