Require disclosure of tests performed during Pap smear
Many Oregon woman are unaware of the tests performed during a Pap smear. Most women believe sexually transmitted diseases and HPV screenings are part of a routine Pap smear; however, they are not and women are not readily informed of what is being tested for. Oregon women need to be educated thoroughly on the tests being performed and advised of all additional screenings that are available prior to the Pap smear exam being performed. The State of Oregon must require disclosure of what is being tested for to allow women to be properly educated and allow proactive and preventative measures to be taken when it comes to women's health.
