The Port of Coos Bay is in trouble. Years of mismanagement by the International Port of Coos Bay has led to numerous issues, including the degradation of infrastructure and the endangerment of the the local fishing industry which has significant historic and economic value to this area.

This petition is for the return of the Port of Coos Bay to local control, with elected officials on board and Port Master positions.  It is also to request protection of the commercial fishing fleet and their docks as a place of historical significance. Any and all future developments by the Port of Coos Bay must be approved by those who call Coos Bay home and are earnestly concerned in its proper management for future generations to enjoy, raise their families, earn a living, and to protect and promote the beautiful and unique culture endemic to this area.
