Oregon State Employee & Labor Relations: Follow the Contract, Support Frontline Workers!

Frontline workers at Universities across the state of Oregon are in bargaining for a fair contract. In this petition we are asking the Employee and Labor Relations department to follow the contract and JUST CAUSE.

Our contract says Discipline shall be imposed for just cause (Art 17, Sec 1). 

In July a classified staffer was terminated from Student Health Services.  Management contends that she did not follow procedures she was trained on. 

This is not true: she never received training in over 3 years working at Student Health. 

She informed Employee and Labor Relationship of this fact twice during her termination. They ignored her!

This is a costly mistake and now both the university and the union will have to waste time and money pursuing a grievance procedure.

Wouldn’t that time and money be better utilized settling a good contract?
