As the Gay Straight Alliance at Oregon City High School, we strive for equality in our school. Something we have noticed to not be equal is something as simple as the bathrooms. For any student who does not identify within the gender “norms” that are at our school, they have only have one restroom to use in the nurses office, being far away from most classes, this is very inconvenient. Not to mention how stigmatizing and dehumanizing this is for the students who are forced to do this. We propose that the school turns three often not used or more convenient bathrooms into gender-neutral bathrooms. By signing this petition, you are helping your former school be a welcoming and equal place for all students regardless of gender, sex, sexuality, race, class, religion or any other personal affiliation.
