Shenandoah Elementary School Rezoning 2018-2019

We write as members of the community being affected by the rezoning efforts at Shenandoah Elementary. We understand the need for change as the dynamics of our community adjust to accommodate growth. We also see an opportunity to lessen the divide of our strong community and make the transition easier for the students and families affected.
• In 2018, we support proposed Option 1, which will keep the current Shenandoah Elementary community unchanged, while introducing the zone of Durrance Elementary north of the 528.
• In 2019, we support Option 1 which will keep the communities east of Conway Road at Shenandoah Elementary. We ask that the communities west of Conway Road (green on map) currently proposed to be rezoned for Conway Elementary to be merged and moved with 208-K8-SE (yellow on map). This will keep part of our divided school community together and will bring strong, supportive families to assist to the legacy and success of this brand new OCPS K-8 school.
We feel the requests we bring forward will keep the strength of the community together, and also aid in the success and capacity issues these schools face with the rezoning, all while aiding the opening of a new K-8 school in our district.
Thank you for your time, support and consideration.
