Selin Ciltas started this petition to Orange County Public School's School Board

According to Pew Research Center, approximately 1 in 5 adults know someone who uses gender neutral pronouns. Unfortunately, with the ongoing decision to continue online learning, many students are unable to express themselves and their identity through the new digital learning platforms from OCPS. With a lack of pronouns presented on LaunchED, many students have felt further isolated during these difficult times.

By providing different options for students, in terms of their pronouns, it would allow students and teachers to communicate much more effectively and create a comfortable learning environment for all.

-Our goal with this petition is for the Orange County Public School Board to make it mandatory to provide an option for students to put their pronouns with their screen names on the different LaunchEd platforms.
-We are asking Superintendent Barbara Jenkins, Chair Teresa Jacobs, Vice Chair Pam Gould, and School Board Members Johanna López, Linda Kobert, Vicki Elaine-Felder, Karen Castor Dentel, and Melissa Byrd to take action with the students of OCPS through this cause.
