On August 29,2021 Lawrence Benjamin Harris III lost his life to a drunk driver by the name of John Edward Angulo. Angulo left the scene and was was found hours later. I have created this petition to make sure Angulo does not get off with Manslaughter. This petition is asking the courts to give Angulo a 2nd degree murder charge.
(Article) SANTA ANA — Felony charges were filed Wednesday against a 30-year-old man accused in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Buena Park man in Anaheim on Sunday night.
John Edward Angulo of Orange is charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury, with a sentencing enhancement for allegedly fleeing the scene of a vehicular manslaughter, according to court records.
Angulo, who made his first court appearance Wednesday via a phone link from a hospital bed, was ordered held on $150,000 bail and had his arraignment rescheduled for Sept. 15 in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana, according to court records.
Angulo is accused in the death of 37-year-old Lawrence Harris of Buena Park, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer.
Angulo allegedly ran a red light before his car slammed into the victim’s vehicle at Knott and Orange avenues, the sergeant said.
Angulo allegedly fled on foot and was caught hours later sleeping in another vehicle near the crash scene, Carringer said.
