"It’s time to acknowledge what two years of data tell us. Children are not at significant risk of serious illness from COVID-19 and should not bear the burden of relieving the anxiety of some adults at the expense of their mental health, social development and academic progress. Our children are voiceless. As parents we need to advocate on their behalf so that the decisions made by adults do not continue to harm our children. We need to move forward towards what is best for the children."

Governor Murphy’s emergency order is now set to expire on March 7, 2022. We strongly request that the Oradell Board of Education provide parents the choice of whether to mask their children as soon as the governor’s state of emergency order ends.

March 7th, the state mandate will be lifted, allowing local districts to determine if they too will lift mask mandates. This petition is to demonstrate that the parents of Oradell demand the right to decide what is best for the health, safety and mental well-being of each of our children-   just as we determine for ourselves each morning whether or not to wear or not wear a mask.
