Santa Rosa County School Board just approved the following bus route. The district says kindergarten-5th graders could walk up to a half-mile with the new bus routes. Meanwhile, 6th-12th graders could walk up to one mile, and ESE w/IEP students could be door-to-door.

With all of the trafficking going on today this is entirely to dangerous for our children. I would not at all be comfortable having my young child walk that far to and from the bus. What if the weather is bad? Putting our children at risk to grt to school is not the solution. Children walking that far is to dangerous and to risky.

For us working parents or parents without a vehicle, riding the bus is my child's only choice. 

And the moment something horrible happens to a child, you will give us parents the push back that you are not responsible because the child was not actually on the bus. Do you not remember the little girl from last year that was almost abducted AT THE BUS STOP!

As you can see via the signatures, the parents are not happy with this change. The childrens' best interest were not thought of in this decision. 

How about better pay and benefits for the bus drivers, so that people will actually want to apply. Put your priorities in the right place.
